Monsters Throughout history, we have had monsters. First, they were demons and spirits that came in the dark and plagued you with nightmares and brought bad luck to your harvest. Those spirits turned into gods, which people worshiped because they did not understand and considered extremely powerful. With each spreading culture, monsters popped up. Why? Because they are an expression of fear. Fear for the future. Fear of the past. Fear of death, Fear of pain, and one of the most relevant in this day and age, the fear of losing one’s individuality. We will always have these fears, even if we create a paradise, anxiety will remain a consistent reminder of our own humanity. We are mere bodies, easily destroyed by a number of unavoidable circumstances. We face fear every day. As long as we have fear we will need monsters.
